2020 Board Elections - Slate Approved
Voting for the 2020 Slate ended on Friday, October 4th and was approved by our Chapter members.
Since the slate was finalized, two members have applied for our open roles: VP Programs and VP Marketing. These candidates have been interviewed and the nomination committee recommended their appointment. The Board had concurred. Here is your 2020 ATD NYC Board:

Job Board – One NEW Posting
CUNY SPS Program Director, Department of Social Service (DSS) Anti-Bias Training Initiative. The Program Director will oversee 8 full-time Trainers, 4 part-time Trainers, a Training Manager, and a Training Coordinator to support this work.

Gamification Certification
In less than 2 weeks, on October 29th, the Chapter is partnering with Sententia and Pfizer to present The Gamification of Learning: A Certification for Talent Development and HR Professionals. This full-day certification course is for L&D and HR professionals interested in using gamification to improve their learning and training programs. You can also earn CPLP, SHRM, and HRCI Recertification Credit for attending. Click the link above to learn more and sign up today!

Our Chapter was well-represented at the ATD Chapter Leaders Conference held Oct 10-12 in Crystal City, VA. This annual conference bring together Chapter leaders from the 100 chapter in the US. 2020 Board members that attended included: Gabrielle Bayme, Rosemary Okoiti, Greg Simpson, Glenn Brodsky, Lindsay Fletcher, and Riedolia Moore-Ellis.
In addition, Zachary Konopka and David Marx presented a session at the conference. In “How and Why Regular Webinar Programming Matters!” they shared our approach which won a 2019 ATD Share Our Success (SOS) Award.

Meeting Space Assistance
We are asking for your help in identify meeting space for our Chapter events, SIG events, or workshops. As a non-profit, we rely on our members to help. Talk to any Board member or email contact@atdnyc.org if you have available space or have suggestions for us to pursue.
CPLP Study Group
Our CPLP Study group now has 4 members. If you would like to join them, please email contact@atdnyc.org. You can also find study tools in the ATD Store.
Note: The CPLP exams will be changing in line with the ATD Competency Model revamp. Updated preparatory materials are expected to be available in early 2020. I would encourage you to direct any chapter members who are interested in pursuing the CPLP or APTD in the near future to reach out to our certification team with further questions.
Talent Development Book Club
We are almost done reading and discussing Radical Candor: Be a Kick-Ass Boss Without Losing Your Humanity by Kim Scott. Visit our Talent Development Book Club page for a book summary, a video, and the reading schedule.
