Develop yourself, practice leadership and teamwork, expand your network, give back to your professional community, and experience the spirit of ATD by volunteering for a committee or project.

    Co-Lead, Career Development SIG 

    We are currently looking for two Co-Leads for the Career Development Special Interest Group (SIG). The Career Development SIG Co-Leads will be jointly responsible for planning and executing all events, activities, and programming for the ATD NYC Career Development SIG. The Career Development SIG Co-Leads also have the opportunity to shape the vision and overall direction of the SIG.

    Reports to: The VP of Special Interest Groups

    Time commitment: Approximately 2-8 hours per month

    Responsibilities

    • Working with the VP of SIGs to determine the overall vision for the SIG
    • Deciding on the SIG activities, events, and special projects for the year
    • Identifying facilitators, speakers, and SMEs as appropriate for SIG events
    • Finding venues for live in-person SIG events
    • Posting SIG events to the ATD NYC website
    • Setting up the Zoom sessions for SIG events
    • Managing registration for SIG events
    • Composing and disseminating communications around SIG events
    • Working with the ATD NYC VP of Marketing to make sure SIG Events get marketed on social media
    Desired Skills & Qualifications
      • Subject matter expert in Career Development OR has a high degree of interest and enthusiasm for learning about Career Development.
      • Self-starter who takes initiative and is always looking for ways to improve things
      • Experience leading large projects
      • Strong decision-making ability
      • Strong facilitation skills
      • Strong interpersonal skills
      • Track record for delivering results; takes accountability and initiative for achieving established goals
      • Stays current in field of talent development, particularly in areas related to Career Development
      • Good verbal and written communication skills
      • Okay with doing a certain amount of admin and logistics to execute events and programs

      Other Requirements

      • Member of ATD NYC in good standing
      • Attendance at all Career Development SIG events (unless alternate accommodations are made)
      • Attendance at special SIG-focused board meetings

        Assistant Vice President (AVP) Roles 

        Summary

        The Assistant Vice President (AVP) role assists a specific Vice President with the operations, admin, logistics, etc. in their elected area. While there may be multiple AVPs, each AVP’s role will have specific responsibilities and deliverables. AVP roles are ideal for students just entering the field, professionals transitioning into the field, or anyone considering applying for the VP-level role.

        Reports to: Vice President (VP)

        Location: Remote (being in the NYC area is helpful)

        Time commitment: Approximately 1-5 hours per month (depending on agreed upon responsibilities)

          Other Requirements

          • Member of ATD NYC in good standing
          • Attendance at a minimum of at least one (1) Chapter or SIG event per quarter and at least six (6) Chapter/SIG events over the course of the year.


          Selection Process

          • Formal interview with VP and a group of Board/Chapter Members
          • Selected candidate(s) approved by ATD NYC Board
          • Approved candidate(s) appointed by VP

             The chapter is seeking volunteer photographer(s) to:

          • Take pictures at Chapter and/or SIG events
          • Upload photos to the Chapter’s Google Drive
          • Potentially, post or work with the Marketing team to post the pictures on social media after the events
