About This Event
Using assessment insights to focus team coaching and guide development
Effective teamwork is essential to organizational performance, yet even talented teams can struggle with alignment, trust, accountability, decision-making, and turning discussion into coordinated action.
In this interactive session, participants will explore how team assessment data can sharpen what we see as coaches and talent development professionals and help identify where development may have the greatest impact.
Using BRITE™ as an applied example and working with a sample team report, participants will examine how assessment data can reveal team strengths, potential barriers to effectiveness, and patterns that might otherwise be difficult to see. Participants will then consider how to translate those insights into productive team conversations, focused coaching interventions, and concrete commitments.
The session will conclude with a brief, practical discussion of how team assessments can complement existing coaching, facilitation, and leadership-development offerings, and add value to the work coaches and talent development professionals are already doing with clients.
During this session, you'll learn how to:
• Identify common conditions that enable or constrain team effectiveness.
• Interpret team assessment data for meaningful patterns rather than simply individual scores.
• Translate assessment insights into focused coaching questions, facilitated conversations, and practical team actions.
• Consider how assessment data can complement observation, inquiry, and other tools already in their coaching or talent development toolkit.
Because better data can lead to better conversations, and better conversations can change how teams work together.
About the Facilitator:
Vinay Kumar helps senior leaders and leadership teams see the patterns that limit their effectiveness, have the honest conversations that matter, and turn insight into practical action that strengthens trust, collaboration, accountability, and results.
Vinay has personally worked with more than 1,000 leaders through executive coaching, Leadership Circle Profile debriefs, team development, and group learning programs in the United States and overseas. He works with senior leaders, high-potential leaders, and leadership teams who want to:
• Increase self-awareness and leadership effectiveness
• Strengthen communication, trust, collaboration and accountability with leadership teams
• Build the courage to have more honest and productive conversations
• Create healthier cultures and stronger organizational results
Vinay has worked with executives and leaders at organizations including Amazon, Boeing, Medtronic, Booz Allen Hamilton, GAF, the Federal Reserve, Farragut Corporation, Valley Health, Mercy Hospital, the U.S. Secret Service, EPA, and the Department of Homeland Security. Many of his clients come from technical and expert-driven backgrounds, including engineering, IT, software development, medicine, law enforcement, finance, and public service.
Vinay holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and a Leadership Coaching Certification from Georgetown University. He is multilingual in English, Hindi, and Urdu, and grew up in a multicultural family.
