About This Event

Trust Repair in Practice

Jaq Poussot will examine the apology as more than a social formality. During the session, we’ll explore it as a practice of awareness, responsibility, and repair. Just as self-awareness precedes our ability to understand others, and self-forgiveness opens the door to genuine compassion, a meaningful apology begins internally before it can land externally.

As relationship researcher John Gottman’s work shows, “it’s not the absence of conflict that builds trust, but how effectively people repair after it.” This workshop builds on that insight—reframing apology as a critical skill for restoring connection and moving forward.

This workshop invites participants to rethink apology as a leadership and team skill—one that, when done well, restores trust, strengthens feedback loops, and reestablishes forward movement within teams.

This 90-minute session blends:

  • Conceptual framing grounded in neuroscience and emotional intelligence
  • Reflective exercises to build internal awareness
  • Practical application for real-world leadership scenarios

This Event is in person

What you will gain from attending:

  • A clear framework for delivering meaningful, effective apologies
  • Insight into the internal conditions required for authentic repair
  • Practical tools to restore trust and improve team dynamics
  • A deeper understanding of how apology connects to feedback, accountability, and leadership presence

About The facilitator

Jaq Poussot is an executive coach and organizational development practitioner whose work lives at the intersection of neuroscience, mindfulness, and leadership. She is particularly interested in the moments where things break—misalignment, miscommunication, missed impact—and what it takes to repair them with integrity.
