Author Talk with Jessalin Lam of The Visibility Mindset: How Asian American Leaders Create Opportunities and Push Past Barriers
Tuesday, November 1 | 6:00-7:00 p.m. ET | Zoom
Meet Jessalin Lam, co-author of The Visibility Mindset: How Asian American Leaders Create Opportunities and Push Past Barriers. This book is an essential career guide for the Asian American community and allies on overcoming barriers and finding success in the workplace along with insightful interviews and advice from inspiring leaders. The Visibility Mindset is also an ideal resource for executives, managers, and other business leaders seeking to make their organization fairer, more diverse, and more equitable.
The book explores a variety of myths, stereotypes, and problems faced by Asian American professionals—including the bamboo ceiling and the model minority myth—and how they’ve operated to exclude Asians from the ranks of leadership for decades. It empowers you to overcome many of these issues and walks you through how to elevate your career as you work to open doors that may otherwise remain closed to you.
In this virtual event, you will learn about stereotypes that have barred Asians from leadership ranks and learn how to break down these career barriers to advancement along with how allies can support Asian professionals in the workplace.
Pre-Order "The Visibility Mindset" on Amazon.
