Serving on the ATD New York City Chapter Board provides you with an unparalleled opportunity to contribute to and shape the direction of our Chapter. Board Leaders are expected to participate in monthly Board meetings and Chapter events, as well as engage member volunteers in strategizing and leading their specific role.
Board Leaders are elected to one-year terms, and must be a member in good standing of the ATD NYC Chapter and ATD National for the elected year.
ATD NYC Board Members qualify for several additional benefits through ATD National.

ATD New York City Chapter Board Positions Descriptions

President (Tenure as President-Elect (see below) is ideal and is not required)
The President chairs the ATD NYC Board of Directors and oversees all functions and work of the Chapter.
Vice President, Finance
The Vice President, Finance is responsible for the financial strength of the Chapter so it can achieve its strategic goals.
Vice President, Programs
The Vice President, Programs is responsible for all program planning for the Chapter, including allocation of resources, and supervision of group activities and events aside from those sponsored by the Vice President of Special Interest Groups.
Vice President, Marketing
The Vice President, Marketing is responsible for the communication/brand strategy - internal to the Chapter and external to the public-at-large, and is also responsible for developing and growing sponsorship in the Chapter.
Vice President, Membership
The Vice President, Membership is responsible for the strategy to recruit, onboard, and retain membership in the Chapter.
Co-Vice President, Special Interest Groups (2 positions)
The Vice President, Special Interest Groups is responsible for overseeing the activities of all the individual Special Interest Groups, including mentoring SIG leaders and identifying potential synergies between SIGs, as well ensuring the recording and publishing of SIG program content for all Chapter members.
Vice President, Sponsorships
The Vice President, Sponsorships is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining relationships with sponsors of the chapter. This role also ensures that all of the agreed upon obligations are added/met in a timely manner by the Chapter and the Sponsors.
Vice President, Talent Management
The Vice President, Talent Management is responsible for developing the Chapter volunteer talent so that the leadership bench and pipeline are strong. This role also manages the nominations committee in the absence of a President-Elect.
Vice President, Technology
The Vice President, Technology defines the technology strategy to ensure the Chapter meets its strategic objectives of engaging membership and strengthening the ATD NYC brand.
Webmaster
The Webmaster oversees the look, functionality, efficiency, and access to the ATDNYC website (atdnyc.org).
President- Elect (Role is a stepping stone to the President role but is not required)
The President-Elect acts for the President in the President's absence or at the discretion or direction of the President, and will assume the President's role the following year and continues in an advisory role as Immediate Past President. The President-Elect serves as Chair of the Nominating Committee, and facilitates planning in preparation for his or her term as President.
